Job Summary
The State Investigation Institute for Health and Veterinary Services in Saxony is seeking a Scientific Researcher to join their Official Food Analysis department in Chemnitz. In this role, you will perform expert food chemistry analysis as part of official food monitoring, produce technical reports and opinions, and contribute to public health consumer protection. You will be responsible for implementing new analytical methods, guiding laboratory staff, and ensuring rigorous quality management throughout the testing process. Additionally, you will support local monitoring authorities, participate in facility inspections, and assist in the training of food chemists and inspectors. This position is ideal for a qualified food chemist looking to apply their expertise in a regulatory environment, offering a balance of scientific research, official oversight, and team leadership within the public sector.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Food Chemistry and successful completion of the state examination as a State-Certified Food Chemist.
Experience
- Professional experience in food chemistry analysis and assessment of animal-based food products
- Professional experience in analytical method development
- Professional experience in laboratory organization and quality management
- Experience in providing technical guidance and instruction to staff

- Must hold state certification as a Food Chemist. This is a part-time position (28 hours/week) limited to cover maternity and parental leave. Requires proficiency in standard PC applications.
