Job Summary

Join a research project focused on hydrogen embrittlement in metallic materials at the Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences. As a Metallographer, you will be responsible for the metallographic preparation and microscopic characterization of samples, as well as supporting the analytical infrastructure. Your daily tasks will include operating light, laser, digital, and scanning electron microscopes, preparing samples, conducting standardized mechanical tests like hardness and tensile tests, documenting experiments, and assisting with data analysis. This role requires a vocational training or equivalent qualification in materials science, materials testing, precision engineering, physics, or a related technical field, with proven experience in metallography and sample preparation. You will work collaboratively with scientific staff on an innovative project investigating material integrity under hydrogen exposure.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training or comparable qualification in materials technology, materials testing, precision engineering, physics laboratory, or an adjacent technical training profession.

Experience
