Job Summary

This role involves leading a department focused on social welfare and central tasks within the Herford District Administration. You will be responsible for the overall and technical management of a team of twelve employees, including staff selection, development, work process management, and fostering a positive work culture. Key responsibilities include ensuring lawful and efficient task execution, optimizing workflows, handling complex cases, representing the department externally, and managing the department's budget and controlling. The position requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to drive change. This is a permanent, part-time position (32 hours/week) with attractive public sector compensation.

Required Skills

Education

Qualification for career group 2, first entry level, or completion of administrative training course II, or a comparable university degree (FH-Diplom/Bachelor) with a legal focus.

Experience

  • Professional experience in a relevant field for public sector roles, or equivalent academic background.
  • Experience in leadership or management roles is desirable.
  • Experience in handling complex legal cases and administrative procedures.
  • Experience in budget planning and controlling.
