Job Summary
The District Administration of Herford is seeking a Head of Care and Support Services to lead a department of 19 employees. This role involves overseeing essential public services, including nursing supervision (WTG), care consulting, housing advice, and guardianship administration. Day-to-day, you will manage staff development, optimize work processes, drive digitalization, and ensure legal and budgetary compliance. You will act as a key representative for the department, collaborating with external authorities and advising political committees. Required Skills
Education
Degree (Bachelor/FH-Diploma) in Law, Health Management, Care Management, or Health Care Management, or equivalent qualification (Laufbahnbefähigung for career group 2, first entry level, or Administrative Course II).
Experience
- Professional experience in public administration for candidates with a degree in Health or Care Management
- Several years of professional experience in a relevant field for candidates outside the public service
- Leadership experience preferred
- Experience in managing teams, workflow planning, and performance assessment
