Job Summary

We are seeking a Professor of Software Development and Software Engineering to join our Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics. This role involves teaching and researching in areas such as programming, software development, and software engineering, with a focus on modern development processes and tools, including AI support. You will be responsible for educating students, developing innovative teaching methods, and contributing to applied research and knowledge transfer. The ideal candidate possesses a strong academic background, extensive practical experience in software projects, and a passion for teaching. Required Skills

Education

Doctorate (PhD) or academic work equivalent to a doctorate in Computer Science or a related field. Completed higher education degree.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional practice in applying or developing scientific findings and methods after completing higher education.
  • At least 3 of the 5 years of professional practice must have been outside of academia.
  • Experience in demanding software projects in programming, software development, and software engineering.
  • Experience with modern development processes and tools, with or without AI support.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Software development in large teams, Software architecture, DevOps.
  • Experience in teaching and applying modern tools and didactic methods.
  • Experience in project-based teaching and student-centered learning.

Languages

English (Basic)

Additional

  • Willingness and ability to teach courses in English. Didactic further training and motivation to use new teaching methods, innovative teaching technologies, and online teaching. Active participation in the further development of the subject area, internationalization of the faculty, and university self-administration. Willingness to teach courses in related fields, potentially in other faculties. Must not have reached the age of 52 for appointment to civil servant status; otherwise, employment will be as a salaried employee. Preference for applicants with severe disabilities if qualifications are otherwise essentially equal.
