Job Summary

The Statistical Office of the State Capital Stuttgart is seeking an IT Specialist for Open Data. This role involves the technical and content-related management and development of the city's Open Data portal, including its integration with the new municipal information system (DUVA). Key responsibilities include coordinating with departments, preparing extensive data sets for publication, ensuring compliance with Open Data standards (content, technical, licensing), and serving as the central point of contact for Open Data inquiries. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Data Science, Statistics, Informatics, or comparable fields (e.g., Economics, Administration, Social Sciences) with a focus on Data Science or Informatics

Experience

  • Comprehensive experience in data preparation, management, and provision in an Open Data context, ideally within a municipal environment
  • Knowledge of content and technical Open Data standards, open file formats, metadata-based information descriptions (especially DCAT-AP), and common interfaces (especially CKAN API)
  • Familiarity with Linked Open Data and Harvesting concepts
  • Experience in applying relevant data and license law (including Creative Commons licenses) and implementing legal requirements (especially Open Data Directive)
