Job Summary
We are seeking a Java and OpenShift Software Development Expert to join our IT team in Berlin. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining Java (Enterprise) based applications and microservices for deployment on a Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. You will also integrate interfaces (REST, SOAP, etc.) with internal and external systems, perform quality assurance through code reviews and unit tests, and act as a problem analyst for complex issues. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the modernization of core applications and the digitalization efforts within the German Pension Insurance. The role requires a strong background in Java Enterprise, SQL, scripting languages, and practical experience with Red Hat OpenShift and container technologies.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university education (Bachelor or Diplom (FH)) in IT or an equivalent qualification (e.g., IT-specific qualification) or completed vocational training in IT with several years of professional experience.
Experience
- Several years of specialized professional experience and in-depth knowledge in software development with Java Enterprise, SQL, and scripting languages (Senior-Level)
- In-depth practical experience with Red Hat OpenShift and container technologies
- Profound knowledge of modern software architectures (including Microservices, REST, DDD)
- Experience with tools and technologies such as Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse, IntelliJ, JUnit
- Interest in Clean Code, test-driven development, and experience with CI/CD pipelines

Additional
- Certified OpenShift Application Developer (EX288) is desirable.
