Job Summary

We are seeking a Marine Electrician to join the Waterways and Shipping Office Weser-Jade-Nordsee, operating on the environmental protection vessel "Mellum" or a trailing suction hopper dredger. This role involves continuous deployment at sea for weeks at a time. The ideal candidate will have completed vocational training as an electromechanic, electronics technician, or mechatronics technician, and possess or be willing to obtain specific maritime certifications including basic safety training, fire-fighting leadership, and survival craft operation. Experience in ship electrics, including PLC, measurement and control technology, hydraulics, and pneumatics, is essential. Familiarity with explosion protection is also required or a willingness to undergo training. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive public sector employment terms.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electromechanic, Electronics Technician, or Mechatronics Technician.

Experience

  • Professional experience in ship electrics, including PLC, measurement and control technology, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience or willingness to train in explosion protection.
  • Experience in maritime operations or willingness to adapt to sea deployment.
