Job Summary

The Finance Department of the Diocese of Aachen is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be responsible for preparing annual financial statements according to HGB for various client structures within the Diocese, including consolidations. You will also ensure data quality, prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, handle VAT pre-declarations and tax return preparations, and analyze/optimize workflows, especially during organizational and technical changes impacting year-end closing. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant commercial qualification with further training as a Certified Accountant or a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Tax, or Auditing, combined with several years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of German commercial and tax law, proficiency with financial software, and an analytical, independent working style are essential.
