Job Summary
Join a leading research center in Molecular Bioengineering at TU Dresden, focusing on arthropod cuticle deposition. This Postdoctoral Researcher position involves project management, data acquisition and analysis using advanced techniques like FIB-SEM and x-ray scattering to study bio-composite formation. You will contribute to understanding the molecular mechanisms behind exoskeleton development in insects and spiders. The role also includes teaching and outreach activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career researcher to gain further academic qualification in a collaborative, state-of-the-art facility, funded by the DFG and part of a research training group.
Required Skills
Education
University and PhD degree in biology, biomimetics, biological materials, or related fields
Experience
- Essential experience in electron microscopy, specifically FIB/SEM volume imaging
- Strong research experience in x-ray data analysis preferred
- Proven track record of successful research with strong writing skills
- Professional experience in biology, biomimetics, or biological materials research
Languages
Additional
- Position limited to 3 years with a possible 2-year extension. Must be eligible for further academic qualification (e.g., habilitation thesis). Full-time position.
