Job Summary

We are seeking a Head of Department for Digitalization in Healthcare to jointly lead a team of 6 employees within the LWL Department for Hospitals and Healthcare. This role involves identifying, strategizing, and standardizing digitalization potentials across clinics and facilities. You will communicate requirements to the internal IT service department, act as a point of contact for software companies during external tenders, and coordinate the maintenance and updates of existing IT systems. The position requires developing digitalization strategies aligned with business models and advocating for the department's interests in portfolio development. The ideal candidate will possess a scientific university degree in relevant fields or equivalent qualifications, strong strategic and analytical skills, and experience in digitalization, preferably within the healthcare sector.

Education

Qualification for the career path of general administration, career group 2, 2nd entry level (formerly higher service) OR qualification for the career path of general administration, career group 2, 1st entry level (formerly upper intermediate service) and fulfillment of development requirements. Alternatively, a relevant completed scientific university degree (Diplom (University)/Master/Magister) in Business Informatics, Business Mathematics, Business Administration, Digital Business Management, or Healthcare Management with a focus on digitalization/medicine, or another relevant scientific university degree with references to the mentioned activities. Further qualification options are available for candidates without direct qualifications but with extensive administrative experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in areas related to the described tasks

  • Expertise in future-oriented IT landscape design for a large public healthcare provider

  • Eligibility for civil servant salary scale A 13 / A 14 LBesG NRW or salary scale EG 13 TVöD VKA. Willingness to participate in and successfully pass an assessment center. For civil servants aiming for advancement, holding a position at least of salary group A 12 with a recent performance review of at least the second-best rating is required. For those seeking advancement via a Master's degree, long-term administrative experience is desirable. Candidates without the primary qualifications but with long-term higher-level administrative experience (at least EG 12 TVöD VKA or comparable responsibility) and a recent performance review of at least the second-best rating from an EG 12 position or comparable role may be further qualified.
