Job Summary
The German Weather Service (DWD) is seeking an IT Specialist for Local Networks and Network Management with team leadership responsibilities. This role involves the conception and operation of complex, nationwide LAN/WLAN infrastructures, including network components, planning, and monitoring. You will coordinate monitoring and logging systems for the DWD's communication infrastructure and manage a team of seven. This position offers a blend of technical expertise and leadership, contributing to secure and high-performance IT communication infrastructures for approximately 25,000 employees across various federal ministries. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a willingness to take on responsibility, and experience in network operations and troubleshooting.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (University Diploma or Master's) in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Security, Mathematics, Physics, or Meteorology, OR successfully completed career examination for the higher technical or scientific service.
Experience
- Professional experience in network management and operations
- Experience with complex LAN and WLAN infrastructures
- Experience with network management and monitoring systems
- Experience in immediate problem-solving (troubleshooting) in LAN technology and HPC connectivity
- Experience in team leadership or coordination
