Job Summary

Join the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) as an IT Specialist, contributing to national crisis management. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing IT systems, supporting software development, and testing IT applications in conjunction with CBRN measuring technology within our labs. You will also be involved in the practical implementation and support of IT systems (hardware and software) for operational deployment, providing 1st and 2nd level support via a user hotline, and assisting with training and exercises. Furthermore, you will support the maintenance and optimization of the 'CBRN reconnaissance' infrastructure, including mobile units, VPN networks, and servers, and contribute to technical requirements for procurement processes. This position requires a completed IT-technical vocational training, ideally with several years of professional experience in IT operations, and knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), client/server/network technologies, firewalls, VPN, and databases. Strong German language skills (C2 level) and a willingness for security screening are essential. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Bonn.

Education

Completed vocational training in IT specialization (Fachinformatik) or a comparable IT technical qualification (e.g., Technical System Administrator, IT System Clerk)

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in an IT technical field

  • Experience with Firewall, VPN, BSI-IT-Grundschutz
