Job Summary
The Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (bpb) is seeking an IT Architect and IT Systems Engineer to join their Information Technology department in Bonn. This role involves IT architecture and management, system administration, and the planning, implementation, and modernization of IT systems, particularly in the context of digitizing administrative processes. You will also be responsible for planning, developing, and optimizing complex projects, leading IT projects within a team, and providing second and third-level support for infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will have a scientific university degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification, extensive practical experience with Windows, Linux, and network environments, virtualization architectures, and IT project planning. Fluency in German is required.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree in Computer Science or comparable (Master's or equivalent), or eligibility for the higher technical administrative service. Applications may also be considered with several years of professional experience in Information Technology, Information Security, Network Technology, or comparable fields if the required degree is not held.
Experience
- Extensive know-how and demonstrable practical experience in planning, building, analyzing, and troubleshooting Windows, Linux, and network environments.
- Secure handling of virtualization architectures.
- Good knowledge and experience in IT project planning and management.
- Experience in the conception and implementation of quality standards in IT.
- Several years of professional experience in the required fields of activity.

- Consent to undergo an extended security check (Ü2 vp Sabotageschutz) is a prerequisite. Occasional multi-day business trips to bpb locations are desirable. Willingness to undergo an extended security check for preventive personnel sabotage protection.
