Job Summary

The City of Weener (Ems) is seeking a Certified Civil Engineering Technician specializing in Civil Engineering and Municipal Water Management. This role involves comprehensive planning, tendering, construction supervision, and billing for new and existing water infrastructure projects, including wastewater treatment plants and sewer networks. You will manage administrative tasks, conduct hydraulic calculations, contribute to conceptual development of urban drainage systems, and process property drainage applications. Collaboration with engineering firms and authorities is key, as is acting as a Water Protection Officer. The position requires strong knowledge of German public procurement law (VOB, UVgO, HOAI) and excellent IT skills. This is a permanent, full-time position within the public service sector.

Required Skills

Education

Completed studies in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Civil Engineering or Municipal Water Management, OR certification as a State-certified Construction Technician with a vocational training in civil engineering or municipal water construction and several years of relevant practical experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in civil engineering or municipal water construction
  • Experience in planning and construction management of sewer rehabilitation and civil engineering measures
  • Experience in the administration of wastewater treatment plants and sewer networks
  • Experience in conducting hydraulic sewer network calculations
  • Experience in the conceptual development and updating of urban drainage plans
  • Experience in processing property drainage applications
  • Experience in participating in political committee meetings and preparing resolutions
