Job Summary
As a Telecommunications Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring internal security in North Rhine-Westphalia by managing and maintaining critical communication systems for the police force. Your daily tasks will involve planning antenna technology for fixed radio systems, connecting police buildings to the Digitalfunk-BOS network, and coordinating implementation with various stakeholders. You will also be responsible for planning, operating, and troubleshooting other communication systems like radios and HF measurement equipment in police stations and control centers. A key part of your role will be analyzing and resolving disruptions, conducting on-site measurements, and developing solutions for all security authorities. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a comparable field; OR State-certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfte/r Techniker/in) or Industrial Master's (Industriemeister) in relevant fields; OR Relevant vocational training in the mentioned areas.
Experience
- At least three years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a comparable field
- At least three years of relevant professional experience with a successfully completed vocational training plus a state-certified technician or master's degree in the mentioned fields
- At least six years of relevant professional experience in information and communication technology with a relevant vocational training
- Professional experience in the infrastructural setup of mobile and digital radio sites (desirable)
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance (Ü2 Sabotageschutz), requiring residency in Germany or an EU member state for at least five years. Applications must be submitted in German.
