Job Summary

As an IT System Administrator & Support Specialist, you will join the IT department of the Episcopal Ordinariate, serving as a central service provider for all staff. Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing and developing IT infrastructure, covering servers, networks, cloud services, and end-user devices. You will ensure stable operations through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and 1st to 3rd-level support. Additionally, you will contribute to IT projects such as Microsoft 365 migrations, backup/restore strategy development, and process automation using scripting. You will be responsible for implementing security measures, managing updates, and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation. This role is unique as it offers a stable, mission-driven environment within the Catholic Church, providing a balance of technical challenge and a supportive, family-friendly workplace culture. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external service providers to maintain high standards of IT service delivery.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Computer Science (Bachelor or Master) or completed IT vocational training with relevant professional experience.

Experience

Professional experience in the operation and administration of IT systems (servers, networks, storage, backup, operating systems).
Experience in participating in IT projects and technical documentation.
Experience in providing IT support and troubleshooting.
Experience in Microsoft environments and basic firewall management.

German (Basic)

Additional

Identification with the goals and values of the Catholic Church and the prevention principles of the Diocese of Speyer is required. Work permit for Germany is required.
