Job Summary

The Technical Relief Agency (THW) is seeking an IT Specialist to join the Digitalization and IT Service Center at the Neuhausen training facility. In this role, you will serve as the primary contact for campus IT and digital teaching solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing and optimizing IT infrastructure, configuring and maintaining systems, providing technical support for digital teaching tools, and assisting faculty with specialized software. You will also participate in pilot projects, document IT processes, and conduct training sessions. This position is unique because it combines standard IT administration with the dynamic environment of a disaster relief organization, requiring occasional work outside standard hours and a high degree of solution-oriented thinking. You will be part of a nationwide network of 160 IT experts, ensuring a stable, secure, and modern digital learning environment for THW personnel.

Required Skills

Education

Completed 3-year vocational training in IT or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Completed 3-year vocational training in an IT field (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration)
  • Alternatively, 3 years of professional experience in IT if the vocational training is in a different field

Languages

German (Fluent)English (Intermediate)

Additional

  • Must be willing to undergo a security clearance (SÜG), work occasionally outside standard hours/weekends, and wear service/operational clothing when required. Must be based in Neuhausen auf den Fildern. Proof of measles immunity required for those born after 1970.
