Job Summary

The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) is seeking an Analyst to join their team in Cologne. In this role, you will conduct systematic, forward-looking, and security-relevant analyses of foreign-related extremism/terrorism and left-wing extremism/terrorism. Your primary objective will be to identify and assess significant strategic developments early on, evaluating their potential impact on the security landscape and the department's mission. You will engage in structured future research, trend scouting, and utilize foresight instruments to derive future scenarios and action options. The role involves preparing analytical findings in a decision-relevant format and participating in working groups and strategic projects. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree, Magister, or Diplom-Univ. in Economic Sciences or Political Sciences with a grade of 'good' or better.

Experience

  • Professional experience in strategic foresight preferred
  • Experience with strategic foresight tools (e.g., Scenario Technique, Horizon Scanning, Trend-Impact Analysis, Wild Card Analysis) preferred
  • Professional experience in economic sciences or political sciences required
