Job Summary

As the Team Lead for Virtualized Network Architectures and Databases at the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), you will manage a ten-person team focused on securing critical national communication infrastructures. Your daily responsibilities include driving strategic and organizational development, managing complex IT projects, and overseeing a high-tech laboratory environment for security analysis. You will implement Zero-Trust principles, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and AI-driven automation to enhance digital sovereignty. This role is unique as it places you at the intersection of leadership, cutting-edge research, and high-level policy, where your technical evaluations directly influence national security standards and digitalization projects. You will act as a key liaison for stakeholders in government, research, and industry, fostering collaborative networks while mentoring your team through modern leadership practices.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master/Diploma) in a scientific or technical field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in network architecture design or operational IT infrastructure management (required if holding a non-technical scientific degree).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role within IT infrastructure or information security.
  • Proven experience in project management and navigating complex technical environments.
  • Experience in leading discussions and negotiations in both German and English.
