Job Summary

In this 36-month fixed-term role at Bayer, you will act as a scientific lead within cross-functional, matrix-organized teams to drive innovative therapeutic programs. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve steering projects from target validation through to the identification of preclinical candidates. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, providing scientific expertise on modalities, lead-finding strategies, and mechanisms of action. A key aspect of this position is facilitating evidence-based 'Go/No-Go' decisions to accelerate the drug discovery pipeline. You will coordinate research assistants, manage CRO evaluations, and present findings to senior management. This role is ideal for a driven scientist who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment and is passionate about advancing therapeutic hypotheses in areas such as oncology, cardiovascular, renal, or immunology. Required Skills

Education

PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in genomic medicine modalities like siRNA or ASO
  • Professional experience in the design and execution of biological assays within a pharmaceutical research environment
  • Professional experience in cross-functional project work within pharmaceutical research
  • Experience in evaluating scientific data, CRO competencies, and development strategies
