Job Summary

The Institute for Medical Epidemiology, Biometry, and Informatics (IMEBI) at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is seeking a Research Associate (PhD Candidate) to join their Mental Health research group. This part-time (65%) position offers a three-year fixed-term contract within a leading epidemiological research environment. The successful candidate will conduct scientific research, including data collection and analysis, prepare reports and publications, and supervise bachelor's and master's theses. You will have the opportunity to pursue a doctorate and participate in teaching activities. The role is ideal for individuals with a background in epidemiology, public health, medicine, nutrition, sociology, or psychology who are eager to contribute to a multidisciplinary, international team. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's level or equivalent) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Medicine, Nutritional Sciences, Sociology, or Psychology. Candidates from non-German universities must provide a Statement of Comparability for Foreign Higher Education Qualifications.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific research, ideally within the field of Mental Health
  • Demonstrated capacity for independent scientific work and creativity
  • Experience in academic settings, including data handling and reporting

Additional

  • Must be willing to pursue or have completed training in epidemiology if coming from a related field. Candidates with non-German degrees must obtain a ZAB certificate of equivalence.
