Job Summary

This role within Mercedes-Benz Intellectual Property GmbH & Co. KG focuses on safeguarding the company's technical innovations in the fields of electrical engineering, connectivity, UI/UX, and digital services. You will be responsible for conducting freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, evaluating third-party intellectual property risks, and providing strategic legal guidance to R&D, purchasing, and marketing teams. Day-to-day, you will manage invention disclosures, draft and file patent applications, handle opposition and nullity proceedings, and negotiate contracts to protect company interests. The ideal candidate is a qualified patent attorney with a strong technical background in engineering or physics, possessing the ability to translate complex legal and technical requirements into actionable business strategies.
