Job Summary

This role within Mercedes-Benz Intellectual Property GmbH & Co. KG focuses on safeguarding the company's technical innovations in the fields of electrical engineering, connectivity, UI/UX, and digital services. You will be responsible for conducting freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, evaluating third-party intellectual property risks, and providing strategic legal guidance to R&D, purchasing, and marketing teams. Day-to-day, you will manage invention disclosures, draft and file patent applications, handle opposition and nullity proceedings, and negotiate contracts to protect company interests. The ideal candidate is a qualified patent attorney with a strong technical background in engineering or physics, possessing the ability to translate complex legal and technical requirements into actionable business strategies. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics. Must be a qualified representative before the European Patent Office or a German Patent Attorney (Patentanwalt/Patentassessor).
