Job Summary

This Research Associate position at TU Dresden focuses on an AiF/ZIM-funded project dedicated to developing Arc-PVD coating processes to achieve defined edge radii on cutting tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for the process design and testing of multi-element coating systems, specifically manipulating layer growth to enhance tool sharpness. Daily tasks involve simulating stress and interface conditions, planning and conducting experimental investigations of hard material coating systems, and collaborating with project partners and sponsors. Candidates must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Materials Science and possess practical experience with Arc-PVD processes and thin-film characterization. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma or Master's) in Electrical Engineering or Materials Science.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Arc-PVD coating processes, particularly for tool coating

  • Professional experience in layer simulation software
  • Experience in project management is desired
