Job Summary
The Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) is seeking an IT Consultant to join the 'Data Laboratory' unit in Bonn or Berlin. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications within the ministry, supporting the federal government's modernization agenda. You will act as a technical all-rounder, bridging the gap between policy, science, and administration. Your day-to-day work involves evaluating new AI technologies, managing product lifecycles, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and steering projects with external service providers. The position is ideal for someone passionate about digital transformation who enjoys hands-on development, project management, and shaping the organizational framework for AI in the public sector. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or University Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Physics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a comparable field with a focus on AI and data analysis.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience in an AI environment, including productive deployment of AI systems.
- Experience in project management, including quality assurance and coordination of external service providers.
- Experience in configuring development environments and using versioning tools.
- Experience with data warehouse applications and interface connectivity.

Additional
- Must be willing to undergo an extended security clearance. Position is open to civil servants (A 14) or tariff employees (E 14 TVöD). Must be a resident of or willing to relocate to Bonn or Berlin.
