Job Summary
As a Geoinformatics Specialist in the Geoinformation Department in Innsbruck, you will lead projects with a focus on the 'tiris' geodata infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities include managing web applications with GIS integration, such as laser and aerial image atlases, and historical map systems. You will be responsible for processing geodata, ensuring quality control, integrating metadata, and performing spatial analyses. Furthermore, you will lead the knowledge management strategy for 'tiris,' which includes designing and conducting training sessions, workshops, and tutorials. You will also contribute to process optimization and the ongoing development of the geodata infrastructure while providing expert GIS support to internal and external stakeholders. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys independent project management and collaborative teamwork in a stable, public-sector environment that emphasizes work-life balance and continuous professional development.
Required Skills
Education
Successful completion of a university degree (minimum four years) with a focus on Geoinformatics or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in geoinformatics and GIS system management
- Experience in geodata processing and quality assurance
- Experience in scripting for automation and data processing
- Experience in conducting training and knowledge transfer is considered an advantage
Languages
Additional
- Must be fluent in German (C2 level) as it is the official administrative language. Applications must be submitted in German. Position is based in Innsbruck, Austria. This is a maternity leave replacement (Karenzvertretung) starting August 1, 2026.
