PhD Student in Redox Biology | PhD student (m/f/d) in Redox Biology
Ruhr-Universität Bochum
Job Summary
This three-year, part-time PhD position offers a unique opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research at the intersection of redox biology and host-pathogen interactions. The successful candidate will investigate how hypochlorous acid, produced during the oxidative burst of neutrophils and macrophages, modifies bacterial cell envelopes and influences host-pathogen dynamics. Day-to-day responsibilities include independent planning and execution of experiments, data analysis, and the application of advanced biochemical and molecular biological techniques such as lipidomics, proteomics, and fluorescence microscopy. You will also contribute to the project's development, publish scientific findings, and supervise students. This role is ideal for a scientifically enthusiastic individual looking to work within a supportive team environment while advancing knowledge in innate immunology and redox homeostasis.
