Job Summary

As a member of the National IT Situation Center at the BSI, you will serve in a 24/7 shift-based role monitoring and responding to cybersecurity incidents across Germany. Your daily responsibilities include analyzing IT security reports, coordinating with internal experts, monitoring media for relevant security developments, and preparing situational reports for various stakeholders. You will act as a primary point of contact for both internal and external entities, requiring high levels of composure and analytical skill during critical situations. This position is unique as it places you at the heart of Germany's cybersecurity defense, providing a comprehensive overview of the national IT threat landscape. You will work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment where continuous learning and professional development are highly valued.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical vocational training in IT, or a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technical field, or a degree with IT components (e.g., technical journalism) combined with relevant experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in information technology (via technical training or degree)
  • Professional experience in a 24/7 operations center or control room environment
  • Experience in analyzing and reporting on technical subject matter

Additional

  • Must be eligible for an extended security clearance (SÜG) per § 9 SÜG. Must be available for 24/7 shift work including weekends and holidays. If holding a foreign degree, a statement of comparability from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
