Job Summary

The Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) is seeking an IT Specialist for its Business Solutions department to support mission-critical operations. In this role, you will ensure the smooth and legally compliant operation of IT business systems, including application administration, system monitoring, and troubleshooting. You will act as a bridge between technical implementation and business requirements, coordinating 2nd and 3rd-level support, managing IT projects, and optimizing business processes. Key responsibilities include planning software rollouts, conducting tests, and providing training to internal stakeholders. This position is unique as it combines technical IT management with the humanitarian and civil protection mission of the THW. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training (minimum 3 years) in IT (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) OR a completed 3-year vocational training in commerce/public administration with additional IT experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT systems integration or administration
  • 6 years of professional experience in IT (required if candidate holds a non-IT vocational degree)
  • Experience in IT project management and business process optimization
  • Experience in 2nd-level support and coordination of external service providers

Languages

German (Fluent)

  • Valid security clearance (SÜG) required; willingness to work outside standard hours and participate in emergency coordination; occasional travel required; proof of measles immunity (or medical contraindication) required; German citizenship or valid work permit for Germany is implied by the civil service context.
