Job Summary

Join an engaged, interdisciplinary, and international team as a Research Associate (25%) supporting the SNF-funded project, "Voices of Heritage Languages." Based at PHBern, you will play a crucial role in project organization, focusing particularly on the administration and documentation of vital research data. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with data collection and evaluation using various qualitative methods, such as semi-structured interviews, transcription, and arts-based participatory workshops. A key part of the role involves contributing to the dissemination of findings through scientific publications, as well as organizing transfer-oriented formats like exhibitions and academic conferences. This position requires a university degree in a relevant field like Sociolinguistics or Education, proven experience with qualitative research methods, and strong organizational skills. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Sociolinguistics, Social Anthropology, Education Science, and/or Migration Research

Experience

  • Professional experience with qualitative or mixed-methods research approaches
  • Experience conducting document analysis and interviews
  • Knowledge of participatory methods, especially arts-based research methods (advantageous)
  • Ability to work in an international research team

Additional

  • This is a part-time position (25%) with a fixed-term contract until January 31, 2029. Requires willingness to participate in project meetings in Italy and scientific/transfer events in Switzerland and abroad.
