Job Summary
This position invites a highly motivated researcher to conduct a dissertation project within the SNF-funded research initiative, "Voices of Heritage Languages." The core focus is investigating the interplay between heritage language education and social cohesion. Day-to-day responsibilities include the collection and analysis of complex research data using diverse qualitative methods, such as semi-structured interviews and arts-based participatory workshops. You will be expected to disseminate findings through scientific publications, organize transfer-oriented activities like exhibitions and conferences, and actively participate in an engaged, interdisciplinary, and international project team. This role offers high flexibility in work organization, excellent infrastructure, and the opportunity to specialize and profile yourself within a critical area of sociolinguistic research.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Sociolinguistics, Social Anthropology, Educational Sciences, and/or Migration Research
Experience
- Professional experience utilizing qualitative or mixed research methods
- Experience with document analysis and conducting interviews
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an international and interdisciplinary research team
- Willingness to participate in project meetings and scientific events in Switzerland and abroad, including Italy

- Fixed-term contract until January 31, 2029. Position is 80% employment.
