Job Summary
As a Research Associate at the Technologietransferzentrum Nürnberger Land, you will play a key role in developing and implementing AI-driven image processing and inspection procedures for industrial applications. Your daily responsibilities include training and evaluating deep learning models for automated defect detection, collaborating with regional partners in sectors like electronics and optics, and contributing to pilot projects. You will also participate in preparing grant applications, conducting feasibility studies, and leading technology transfer initiatives such as workshops and seminars. This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in computer vision, robotics, or mechatronics who is eager to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial implementation. Required Skills
Education
Completed Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Professional experience in industrial image processing and/or machine learning
- Experience with deep learning frameworks and architectures
- Experience in scientific research, project development, or third-party funding acquisition

- Must be eligible to work in Germany. Position is a 50% part-time, two-year fixed-term contract. Requires adherence to the TV-L public service pay scale (E13).
