Job Summary
This role involves shaping the strategic governance and implementation of Artificial Intelligence within the North Rhine-Westphalia state administration. You will work at the intersection of technology, law, and organizational development, focusing on creating frameworks for sustainable AI use, establishing infrastructure, and managing innovation projects. Key responsibilities include conceptualizing AI-governance, clarifying complex legal questions related to the EU AI Act, coordinating interdisciplinary committees, and representing the department in national and European regulatory processes. The position is ideal for a professional with a strong legal or administrative background who is passionate about digital transformation and public sector modernization. You will act as a bridge between technical requirements and regulatory compliance, requiring strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex issues to leadership and external stakeholders.
Required Skills
Education
Qualified to hold judicial office (at least 'satisfactory' in 1st or 2nd state exam), or completed scientific university degree (Master/Magister/Diploma) in Law (ideally with a focus on IT/data/information law), Business Law, Public Administration, or Political Science.
Experience
- Several years of relevant professional experience, preferably in public administration or a regulatory environment.
- Experience with IT, digitalization, or AI-related topics.
- Experience in coordinating complex coordination and negotiation processes.
Languages
Additional
- Must be eligible for employment in the German public service (TV-L or civil servant status). Requires high level of reliability and ability to work in a demanding, high-volume environment.
