Job Summary

As an Operations Engineer for Forecasting Systems, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability and reliable operation of a platform that processes vital energy forecasting data. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of this platform, including change, incident, and problem management based on ITIL frameworks. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve coordinating deployments, installing updates, and serving as the primary technical contact for internal and external partners. You will collaborate closely with IT infrastructure and security teams to maintain current systems while actively supporting the development of future-proof forecasting solutions. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a complex, mission-critical environment and enjoys bridging the gap between technical operations and business-critical energy processes. The role offers a high degree of flexibility, including mobile work options, and the chance to contribute directly to the energy transition at a leading transmission system operator.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree or vocational training in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable IT-related field.

Experience

  • Several years of in-depth professional experience in the planning, operation, and further development of client-server applications in a role such as Operations Engineer or IT Application Manager.
  • Professional experience in IT project management and IT provider steering.
  • Experience in ITIL-based service management, particularly in change and incident management.
