Job Summary

The University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) is seeking eight PhD candidates for the DFG-funded research group SOMACROSS.2, focusing on persistent somatic symptoms across various medical conditions. In this role, you will contribute to interdisciplinary research projects by assisting in study coordination, patient recruitment, data collection, and statistical analysis. Depending on the specific project, you will also be involved in developing and delivering mechanism-based interventions, conducting qualitative interviews, and utilizing wearable technology and Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) to track symptom progression. This position offers an excellent environment for academic qualification, including the opportunity to pursue a PhD, participate in a structured junior researcher program, and engage in national and international networking. You will work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing psychosomatic medicine.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's level or equivalent) in Psychology or Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy.

Experience

  • Professional experience in clinical settings, such as internships or psychotherapeutic training, is highly desirable for intervention-focused projects.
  • Academic experience in psychology or clinical psychology and psychotherapy.
  • Experience in research methodology, including data analysis and scientific publication.

  • Must provide proof of complete measles immunity/vaccination status prior to employment. Candidates must be willing to pursue a PhD within the framework of the SOMACROSS research group.
