This role involves working within a research environment focused on soil and water studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, setup, and execution of experiments, both in the field and the laboratory. Key day-to-day tasks include the calibration and maintenance of measurement equipment, data acquisition and processing, and the development of measurement systems. You will also engage in programming to optimize data workflows and assist in the supervision of students. This position offers a stable, permanent contract at a university institute in Vienna, providing an opportunity to contribute to scientific research while utilizing technical and manual skills. The role is ideal for a structured individual who enjoys a mix of hands-on technical work, data analysis, and method development in an academic setting.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical engineering or electrical engineering vocational training or technical college degree.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical engineering and measurement systems
  • Practical experience in technical setup and calibration of instrumentation
  • Proven experience in data processing and technical documentation
  • Experience in manual construction or repair work is highly valued

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Position is based in Vienna (1190). Must be able to work 40 hours per week. Availability for occasional flexible working hours.
