Job Summary

This role as a Chemical Technical Assistant at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna involves a diverse range of laboratory management and research support duties. You will be responsible for the day-to-day organization of the laboratory, including inventory management, waste disposal, equipment maintenance, and ensuring safety standards are met. Beyond administrative tasks, you will independently conduct microbiological work—such as cultivation and biochemical assays—and support researchers in their experiments. A unique aspect of this position is the involvement in teaching, where you will help organize and supervise student practicals. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in chemistry or biotechnology, a high degree of precision, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative academic team. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical Lab Technician (or equivalent HTL diploma) or a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology.

Experience
