Job Summary

As a Portfolio Manager at the German Pension Insurance (DRV Bund), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our retirement and insurance service portfolios. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conceptualizing, initiating, and steering project portfolios, including rigorous reporting and performance measurement. You will conduct workshops, manage stakeholder expectations, and translate complex customer requirements into actionable business cases and cost-benefit analyses. A core aspect of this role is the strategic development of portfolio methodologies and procedures to ensure the efficient delivery of social security services. You will work closely with department leadership to prioritize initiatives and optimize release planning. This position is unique as it sits at the intersection of public sector social security administration and modern digital portfolio management, offering the opportunity to influence large-scale administrative processes while utilizing data-driven insights to support informed decision-making across the organization.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or FH Diploma) in Economics or Social Security, or equivalent qualification (e.g., Social Security Specialist or Business Specialist).

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of recent professional experience in portfolio management, specifically in KPI-based product portfolio steering.
  • Professional experience in workshop moderation, planning, and evaluation.
  • Professional experience in analyzing and prioritizing business requirements and conducting cost-benefit calculations.
  • For candidates with a vocational degree as a Social Security Specialist (Sozialversicherungsfachangestellte*r), several years of professional experience are required.
