Job Summary
As an IT Manager at the German Broadcasting Archive (DRA) in Potsdam-Babelsberg, you will take full responsibility for the organization's IT landscape. You will lead the strategic and operational integration of various IT domains, including support, system administration, application development, and project governance. Your day-to-day work involves coordinating IT requirements, managing relationships with external service providers (such as hr, rbb, and IVZ), overseeing the IT budget, and ensuring compliance with IT security and governance standards. This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who thrives on structuring processes and driving digital transformation in an agile, mission-driven environment dedicated to preserving audiovisual history. You will act as the central point of contact and escalation, balancing technical oversight with high-level organizational planning to ensure the IT department effectively supports the DRA's cultural and journalistic mission.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree in Information Technology, Information Science, or an equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience as an IT Manager, ideally within smaller teams covering support, maintenance, operations, and development.
- Extensive experience in business process analysis, development, and implementation within an IT context.
- Proven experience in managing external service providers and acting as an escalation point.
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional IT projects and setting strategic priorities.
