Job Summary

As an HVDC Commissioning Engineer specializing in DC Protection, you will play a critical role in the integration, testing, and commissioning of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting integration tests, functional performance tests (FPT), and dynamic performance tests (DPT) within test centers and on-site. You will ensure that HVDC facilities are commissioned efficiently, meeting technical standards and project timelines. Additionally, you will support the commissioning management team in quality control, risk assessment, and claim management, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex, large-scale energy infrastructure projects globally. The role requires a strong technical background in electrical engineering, proficiency in control and protection systems, and the ability to manage site-based operations. It is an ideal role for an engineer passionate about high-voltage technology who thrives in dynamic, project-based environments and is ready for international travel.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in HVDC/HGÜ systems and high-voltage technology
  • Experience in control, regulation, measurement, protection, and communication systems
  • Experience in electrical power supply and facility commissioning is considered an advantage

Additional

  • Must be willing to travel worldwide for long-term site assignments (Onshore/optional Offshore). German language skills at level B2+ are a mandatory prerequisite.
