Job Summary

The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences Landshut is seeking a Laboratory Engineer to manage, operate, and evolve its computer laboratories. In this permanent, full-time role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of lab environments, including software provisioning, OS management, and license administration. You will provide technical support to faculty and students, manage department-wide network infrastructure (LAN/WLAN/VLANs), and oversee the procurement of hardware and software. A key aspect of the role involves testing and implementing emerging technologies to support teaching and research. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, IT Systems Engineering, Electrical and Information Engineering, or a comparable scientific/technical discipline.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the administration of IT workstations and technical environments
  • Experience in an academic or laboratory setting is considered an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in software deployment, maintenance, and update processes
  • Practical experience in network administration and foundational network services

Additional

  • Must hold a university degree in a relevant technical field. Must be proficient in German (C1 level). This is a permanent, full-time position governed by the TV-L public sector collective agreement.
