Job Summary

The Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden (IPF) is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist to join their Polymer Engineering Science division. This role focuses on the development of sustainable reactive material production, specifically within a publicly funded project aimed at creating biodegradable and recyclable plastics from local waste. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing closed-loop recycling concepts for cross-linked polymers, researching reactive polymer processing using high-energy electrons, and conducting comprehensive polymer characterization. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge, sustainable research, utilize state-of-the-art laboratories, and potentially pursue further scientific qualification, such as a doctorate, within a supportive, interdisciplinary team.

Required Skills

Education

Master's or Diploma degree in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

Experience

  • Professional experience in polymer characterization (network analysis, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, rheology)
  • Professional experience in statistical data analysis of structure-property relationships
  • Interest in further developing equipment technology for polymer processing
