Research Scientist (Polymer Chemistry) | Chemiker (m/w/d)
Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden e. V.
Job Summary
This role is for a highly motivated Research Scientist specializing in Polymer Chemistry at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research (IPF). The core responsibility involves the systematic development and validation of scalable synthesis and modification strategies for novel precursors and precursor layers essential for creating robust material-locking metal-plastic composites. Day-to-day tasks include internal and external project coordination, advanced structural and physico-chemical characterization using techniques such as XPS, TGA-FTIR, and ToF-SIMS, elucidating fragmentation mechanisms, and developing strategies for offline/inline quality control of precursor deposition. Candidates must possess a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (Postdoc level preferred), fundamental knowledge of organic/polymer synthesis, and proven experience in up-scaling chemical processes. This challenging, fixed-term position (Feb 2026 – Oct 2028) offers work within an international, interdisciplinary research environment focusing on material science innovation.
