Job Summary

The Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg is seeking a Research Associate (75% part-time) to join the Institute of Physics. In this role, you will contribute to the EFRE project focused on developing novel optical methods for photoacoustic imaging, specifically targeting applications for human brain imaging. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing optical measurement setups, managing device control systems, performing data analysis, and publishing scientific results. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a background in physics or engineering who enjoys working in an academic research environment. You will be expected to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team. The role offers the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research in optics, acoustics, and signal processing, contributing to significant scientific advancements in medical imaging technologies.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's, Diploma, or equivalent) in Physics, Medical Physics, Biophysics, or a related Engineering discipline.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific research and experimental development
  • Experience in optical measurement setups and device control
  • Practical experience in programming and data analysis using Python, Matlab, or C++
  • Experience in signal processing and numerical simulation

  • Must provide a Statement of Comparability for Foreign Higher Education Qualifications (ZAB) if the degree was not obtained at a German university. Position is fixed-term until 30.09.2027. Part-time (75%).
