Job Summary

The Hansestadt Herford is seeking an Energy and Climate Transition Engineer to join the Technical Department. This role is a newly created staff position reporting directly to the Technical Deputy Mayor. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve coordinating energy and climate-related projects, establishing a comprehensive controlling system, and preparing reports for municipal committees. You will be responsible for prioritizing climate protection and adaptation activities based on existing municipal heat planning and climate protection concepts, as well as identifying and applying for relevant funding opportunities. The position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills for interdepartmental coordination, and the ability to work independently.
