Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced researcher to join the Genebank Documentation group at IPK Gatersleben to lead the development and implementation of a data quality index (DQI) framework for the European Search Catalogue for Plant Genetic Resources (EURISCO). In this role, you will define quality metrics, design an interactive visualization platform, and integrate these tools into existing operational workflows to improve data standards. You will work at the intersection of life sciences and computer science, collaborating within an interdisciplinary team to promote FAIR and CARE principles. The ideal candidate possesses a master’s degree in plant genetic resource conservation, has professional experience in genebank management, and is familiar with data standards like MCPD and MIAPPE. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a DFG-funded project that directly impacts the accessibility and reliability of plant genetic data for the global research and breeding community. The position is full-time and fixed-term for 36 months, offering a collaborative, international, and family-friendly research environment.
