Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join the Data & Analytics Services team in Freiburg to design and implement robust, cloud-native Snowflake solutions at an enterprise level. This hands-on role allows you to exert significant architectural influence, serving as a technical counterpart to Data Architects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing the Snowflake platform, optimizing performance, and building sophisticated data pipelines using modern tools like dbt and Fivetran. You will also focus on data governance, implementing tagging and masking policies, and enabling self-service analytics patterns. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in cloud environments and is passionate about DataOps, Data Mesh principles, and building scalable data products. You will be part of a collaborative national and international network of data professionals, benefiting from a culture that prioritizes innovation, continuous learning, and professional freedom.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- • Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on cloud data architectures.

- Work location: Freiburg. Must have strong proficiency in German and English (C1 level). Experience with Terraform, CI/CD workflows, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is considered a plus.
