Job Summary

The City of Unna is seeking a dedicated Data Manager to lead the development of a city-wide data strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for breaking down data silos, improving transparency, and providing actionable insights to support sustainable urban development. You will coordinate with various departments, including GIS and climate monitoring teams, to manage data flows and oversee Open Data initiatives. A key part of your daily work will involve developing dashboards, defining performance indicators, and fostering a culture of data literacy across the administration. You will also play a critical role in supporting digital transformation projects and advising on the implementation of new technologies like AI and RPA. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Diploma) in Public Administration, Business Informatics, Data Science, Statistics, or a comparable field; OR completion of the second administrative course (VL II) / qualification for the career group 2.1 of the general administrative service.

Experience

  • Professional experience in statistical data collection and analysis
  • Professional experience in developing performance indicators and data-based decision support
  • Experience in process optimization and implementation of new technologies

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Must meet the qualification requirements for the German public service (career group 2.1 or equivalent). The position requires effective communication skills for coordination with data protection and information security officers.
