Job Summary

This role at the Institute for Medical Microbiology involves performing fundamental molecular biological and immunological analyses, including DNA/RNA isolation, genotyping, and real-time PCR. You will be responsible for the isolation and functional investigation of human and murine immune cells, as well as immune cell characterization using flow cytometry and MACS technology. Beyond laboratory tasks, you will assist with administrative duties such as ordering supplies and support the onboarding of new staff members. The position is ideal for a qualified BTA or MTA who is comfortable working with animal models and enjoys contributing to cutting-edge biomedical research. You will work in a collaborative, international environment that values professional development and offers a stable work-life balance with no shift or night duties. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA) or Medical Technical Assistant (MTA).

Experience

  • Professional experience in biological or medical technical laboratory work
  • Experience in the guidance of interns or doctoral candidates is desirable

Additional

  • Valid certification according to §23a Protection against Infection Act (IfSG) regarding measles vaccination/serostatus is required. Willingness to perform animal experimental work is mandatory. Position is part-time (19.025 hours/week) and fixed-term until 30.04.2028.
