Job Summary

This PhD position offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of energy by developing AI-driven solutions for autonomous distribution grid planning. Based in Munich, you will work part-time (20 hours/week) in a dynamic team, bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world industrial applications. Your daily responsibilities include developing data-driven methods for grid analysis, integrating distributed flexibilities like heat pumps and EV chargers into planning models, and applying advanced algorithms such as Deep Learning, Clustering, and Bayesian Networks. You will manage complex data models, evaluate your findings through implementation, and contribute to the scientific community through publications and patent disclosures. Required Skills

Education

Completed Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a comparable field with a focus on numerical methods.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, ideally within the energy sector
  • Experience in managing and analyzing system data from diverse sources
  • Experience in modeling complex energy systems
  • Experience in research projects related to grid planning or sustainable energy systems is preferred
